Criteria for depositing doctoral thesis

Thesis in manuscript format:

  • A relevant scientific article published or formally accepted in an indexed journal.
  • The article must be published after the date of the first enrolment in doctoral studies.
  • The article must be directly related to the topic of the doctoral thesis.
  • The article submitted can only be part of the submitted doctoral thesis, it must not have been included in previous theses and cannot be included in subsequent theses.
  • Journal publication of the Research Protocol will not be accepted as a scientific contribution of the doctoral thesis.
  • The PhD student must appear as the first author of the article.
  • The doctoral program must appear as the affiliation of the doctoral student.
  • The thesis must meet criteria of originality and absence of plagiarism.
  • Favorable report from 2 external experts. In the event that reviewers make observations on the thesis document, the appropriate modifications must be made, if relevant, and a report in response to the observations must be included in the thesis deposit documents.

Thesis by compendium of articles:

  • A minimum of three articles published or formally accepted for publication in an indexed journal is required.
  • The articles must be dated after the first enrolment in the doctoral programme.
  • The articles must be directly related to the topic of the doctoral thesis.
  • The submitted articles may only form part of the submitted doctoral thesis; they must not have been included in previous theses and may not be included in future theses.
  • The publication of the Research Protocol in a journal will not be accepted as a scientific contribution to the doctoral thesis.
  • The PhD candidate must appear as the first author of at least two of the articles included in the compendium-based thesis.
  • The doctoral programme must appear as the affiliation of the PhD candidate.
  • The thesis must meet criteria of originality and absence of plagiarism.
  • A favorable report from two external experts is required. If the reviewers make comments on the thesis document, the necessary modifications must be made, if appropriate, and a response report addressing the reviewers’ comments must be included in the thesis’s submission documents.
