How many admission deadlines are there?
There is an ordinary deadline for applying for admission to doctoral programs, which is usually open between the months of April and June.
If there are places available, a second admission period opens at the end of the year.
I want to apply for a predoctoral grant and one of the requirements is to have admission to doctoral studies. Can I apply for admission?

And in the case of needing admission when the deadline for the Doctoral School is closed? After the deadline, only applications from beneficiaries of predoctoral grants are accepted
What do I need to prepare before applying for admission?
Academic aspects
1. Check that you meet the requirements, or that you are in a position to meet them.
2. It is advisable to have the acceptance of a potential thesis supervisor/tutor in view of the proposal of the topic of the doctoral thesis, prior to applying for admission.
Administrative aspects
1. Have a digital signature certificate accepted by the UdL e-Office. You can find the information at this link.
- For foreign students who do not have residence in Spain or who do not have a digital certificate, it is necessary to formally request the idCAT Mobile digital identification and signature system.
- Obtaining the digital signature certificate or the idCAT Mobile takes at least one week. It is for this reason that it is necessary to request it as soon as possible.
2. Have the necessary documents, indicated in the Documentation section of the website.
What should the documents be like for admission?
- Documents in digital files, signed with a digital certificate by the issuer or with an organ seal by the issuing entity. These are documents that can be verified electronically through the digital signature certificate or through a secure verification code, or a link.
-All documents must be named according to the instructions in the documentation menu of the website, and without accents or strange characters ('*^) to avoid computer problems.
What happens if I only have simple copies?
1. In the event that a simple copy is submitted, the Doctoral School may request that it be amended and certified copies provided if necessary.
2. For studies carried out at the UdL, it is only necessary to present the academic record that accredits the corresponding details.
I have completed my previous bachelor's and/or master's degree studies in a country outside the EHEA. I have a valid passport, degrees and certificates of qualifications, but I still do not have the legalization/Hague Apostille of these documents. Can I apply for admission?
Yes. Apply for admission with the documentation you have available, within the deadline.
The secretary's office of the Doctoral School will review the documentation, and if it contains the essential elements to be assessed the application for admission, it will be sent to the Academic Committee for resolution. However, it will be requested that the documentation be amended and provided or improved
In the event that at the time of the decision you have not submitted the legalisation of the documents, if the admission resolution is favourable, it will be conditional on you providing the legalisations or Hague Apostille.
